Coronavirus in Australia, First Coronavirus death case confirmed in Australia

The Number of deaths due to Coronavirus are increasing worldwide day by day. Recently, Australia has also joined in the list of victims of the Coronavirus. Today, Australia has confirmed its first death due to Coronavirus.

The deceased was a 78 year old man who was recently taken from the Japanese ship Diamond Princess and is being treated at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Perth who died in the early hours of Sunday morning. The deceased wife also infected with Coronavirus and now she is in isolation at a Perth hospital.

Another coronavirus positive case confirmed in Australia, this coronavirus positive case was a 40 years aged man who returned from Iran to Sydney. With this, the total number of confirmed Coronavirus cases in Australia are five.

Australia imposes travel ban on Iran

Iran became the highest death rate country from coronavirus after China. From a total of five positive coronavirus cases in Australia, two are from Iran. Due to the highest coronavirus death rates in Iran, Australia is planning to ban foreign travellers from Iran. Australian health minister Greg Hunt said that the travel ban on Iran would come into force from Sunday due to high death rate from coronavirus in Iran after China.  

  “There is likely at this stage a high level of undetected cases and therefore those cases won’t be intercepted or identified on departure from Iran,” Greg Hunt said.
