Bridgerton is the latest series to top the Netflix charts. Decider reported Bridgerton, on the week of December 29th, was holding the #1 spot topping Netflix’s top 10 most watched shows and movies list. The Bridgerton series on Netflix passed up the previous holders at #2 and #3 , We Can Be Heroes and The Midnight Sky, respectively. Who is Bridgerton’s Lady Whistledown?

Adding to this season’s soapy drama was Lady Whistledown, Bridgerton’s witty narrator whose identity remains hidden until the very end of the season’s final episode. At the beginning of each episode, Lady Whistledown’s latest column is read from her newspaper where she updates the town on its latest gossip.

The voice of Lady Whistledown is Julie Andrews, the talented actress who narrates the entire series and has starred in iconic movies including The Sound of Music and Mary Poppins. For most of the season nothing is seen of Lady Whistledown, only Julia Andrew’s voice over is heard. The character’s real identity isn’t revealed until Penelope Featherington slowly removes her hood in the finale to reveal herself to the viewers as the infamous debutante. However, the character of the show do not yet know Lady Whistledown’s true identity to ensure season 2’s drama will be even soapier.
